This could've been a fantastic role if played right, yet with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) leaving Asgard's refugees to Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) at the end of Avengers: Endgame, it's now pretty unlikely we'll ever see the character in the MCU.

Granted, The Dark World is such a mind-numbing movie that there's virtually no chance Balder's presence would've made it any worse. Based on the Norse deity Baldr, he's Thor's half-brother, renowned for not only his bravery - hence the name - but also his agility, which is said to be the most potent of any Asgardian, making it tough for even Thor to strike him.Īnd better yet, he's basically invulnerable while residing on Asgard. Apparently, he is the older half-brother of Thor named Balder the Brave.
